IMPORTANT NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS
The safety of the public at Agricultural Shows has always been much of a concern to organisers but has now become a matter of paramount importance in relation to Public Liability Insurance and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 with additions and amendments. The Show is no exception and presents many difficult problems because of its size in terms of the numbers of people and livestock at the show.
In order to meet legal and insurers’ requirements, it has been necessary to introduce arrangements to segregate, as far as possible, the general public from livestock and horses. The Society has appointed Stewards to supervise the implementation of these measures who will control the movement of people and livestock to and from different areas of the Showground.
THE DIRECTIONS OF THE STEWARDS MUST BE FOLLOWED AT ALL TIMES.
It is in your own interests to comply with all instructions and to observe the procedures laid down and the Society would appreciate your full co-operation in this. However, should any exhibitor refuse to comply with the instructions of the Stewards, the Society will have no alternative but to immediately remove from the Showground that exhibitor’s entries and all fees paid or prizes won will be forfeit. This condition will be strictly enforced and no appeal will be entertained.
You are urged to familiarise yourself with details of the routes to be taken to and from the Main Ring and the various Showing Rings and seek assistance or advice of the Stewards if you are in doubt about any aspect of this matter.
